My LinkedIn Post Flopped

It had 10 comments and 5 of those comments were me replying to other people

I have 32,000 followers and only 5 people commented.

And I wasnโ€™t even selling anything! I was promoting a LinkedIn Live I was doing with my friend Sarah Clay talking about "How to sell on LinkedIn."

Considering that 99% of LinkedIn sales messages are awful, I thought people would be jumping up and down for this.

A friend sent me a WhatsApp. "Is this all it takes to be a LinkedIn Top Voice ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚โ€

A LinkedIn connection said โ€œWhat happened to your post? Even I did better than you today.โ€ ย  There was no smiley face on that one.

The LinkedIn Live ended up with 25 registered attendees, more than that showed up and 85 comments, making it a success.

I had 12 LinkedIn DMs afterwards saying thank you with many asking more questions.

Public comments are wonderful for engagement and appreciation. The meetings and business conversions take place in the DMs.

When a post doesnโ€™t perform as you expected, please keep this in mind.

๐Ÿ‘‰ You donโ€™t lose business.

๐Ÿ‘‰ ๐Ÿ‘‰ Most people are busy dealing with their own issues, so they wonโ€™t notice.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘‰ The only thing that gets affected is your ego.

Itโ€™s important to know your number in sales, however, some numbers are just metrics and others are more important.

Itโ€™s always better to try something and have it not work out, than do nothing at all.

Consistency and small daily improvements will always rule, on LinkedIn and in business.
